The leaves are medium-sized, loosely rolled, and brownish-black with a scattering of taupe buds. The brisk liquor is medium bodied and starts on a sweet clean note, delving into stronger tannic flavors in the middle. Woody characters are dominant in the cup, although notes of malt and nuts make a fleeting appearance in the middle and in the aftertaste. The finish has a note of tree fruit.
